If your computer or electronic storage device is lost, 通过网络被盗或闯入, protected data may be obtained from your compromised equipment. Search results can be saved and file clean-up completed at a more convenient time. Business processes may allow for the download of sensitive data onto the workstation. We want to reduce the chances of this sensitive data being leaked. This is where we 定义文件处理周期 对于员工/教职员工. We currently recommend the following data protection techniques:

  2. Encrypt files/folders using password-protection capabilities.

There are five options – Shred, Scrub, Secure, Quarantine and Ignore. But not every option is available for every type of computer or file. Depending on where the file is located on the computer, 可用选项将出现在主功能区中.

  1. Shred utilizes a Department of Defense wiping standard to permanently delete the file.
  2. Scrub removes the personal information and leaves all other content in place. This feature is available only for files created in Office 2007 and later.
  3. Secure uses application-specific encryption to password protects the file.

Using Spirion

Opening Spirion

 

Windows电脑:

Spirion Profile

The Search Wizard is quick and easy to use and provides you with three options:

  • Start Search Now:立即开始搜索当前设置.

START SEARCH NOW

By selecting "继续搜索向导，有五个选项:

  • Configure Search: Configure Spirion to search for specific types of data such as SSNs, 信用卡号码(ccn), Passwords, 银行帐号, Drivers Licenses, DOBs, Phone Numbers, E-Mail Addresses, 个人地址, Passport Numbers, 和个人健康信息(PHI).
  • Standard: Search for SSNs, CCNs, and Passwords within your web browsers, E-Mail (i.e. Microsoft Outlook应用程序内的电子邮件).
  • PCI-DSS 2.0: Search for Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI DSS) in Browsers, E-Mail, and common files across the entire Computer.
  • HIPAA/HITECH: Search for 个人健康信息(PHI) in Browsers, E-Mail, and common files across the entire Computer.
  • Comprehensive: Search for all common personal information across the entire Computer.

SEARCH SETUP

    • Note: File Search needs to be enabled so that Spirion can search the files stored on your computer.

Pausing a search

  • You may temporarily pause a search in progress by clicking the pause button on the Main tab on the ribbon. The Pause 按钮在同一个地方 Start 按钮，并自动从 Start to Pause 当搜索开始时. Once you click Pause，将自动更改为 Resume button.

Resuming a search

Stopping a search

  • 如果要停止当前搜索，请单击 Stop button on the Main tab on the ribbon. It will NOT be possible to resume the search once you click Stop. 

  • Once you click Stop, Spirion will take a moment to complete the current process. 您将看到一个对话框，通知您它的状态. If the location currently being analyzed is large or complex, it may take a long time for Spirion to stop your search. 

    • The Wizard 图标将弹出“结果向导”. 
    • The Advanced icon will take you back to the main Spirion interface.

  • Progress Bar: Depicts the percentage complete for the current location type.
